Moving up a few more steps: Tip #3

Try this, as your computer is booting (if you have Windows XP installed) press the F8 key. Why? Once a spyware is installed on your system, one of the first thing it does is that it copies itself into your memory that is the RAM. Spyware, once loaded onto your RAM is very hard to get rid of. A list of options is shown on the screen. Choose any one of the safe mode options. Safe mode option(s) only loads the required files by the operating system. While in the safe mode you give your anti-spyware a little more room to actually remove spyware more efficiently. Some tests we conducted did prove that running anti-spyware in the safe mode, boosts the anti-spywares performance by at the least 30%, since more memory is available and sweeps and scans are much faster and more efficient.

Moving right ahead: Tip #4

Some spywares are made smart. They will keep returning no matter how many scans and removals you do. This is because the spyware has copied itself into the system restore area of Windows XP. If files are removed by any software or user from this area, they are automatically restored the next time your computer boots. So its no that your anti-spyware is not detecting it or not removing the spyware, its just that every time it does remove it, the spyware is restored back from the systems restore are of Windows XP. Ingenious! Yes they are. In such cases, we advice, to switch off your system restore feature before you scan or sweep your PC with any anti-spyware. To do this, Right click on My Computer, Click on properties tab. From the properties window click on the Restore tab. Check the box where it says "Turn off System Restore on All Drives"
Once the scan is complete. Reboot your PC. As soon as you have rebooted, DO turn on your system restore.
